So this is my “about me” page. I guess you could also say it is my “bio” page or whatever else you want to call it. Lets Just call it my “Mayonnaise” page. Why? I have no idea. 

To start, I’m gonna just put my first blog post in cause it basically says it all…for right now anyways.

So I started this blog for a number of reasons:

1. I want to express my opinions

2. I want to write and become a better writer

3. I want to show my style in bigger ways that can be discovered.

Know for a quick-y bio about me:

My name is Courtney, I live in the great city of New Orleans, and I am in high school. My dream is to either become a fashion designer, a journalist, or a lawyer….but this blog will not be focused on politics. This blog’s focus is more on fashion. I love fashion, but some parts of the fashion industry I do not agree on. For example, I do not agree with the sizes of the models. Many girls look up to the stick-sized models and see that these models are beautiful. This causes girls to feel insecure if there is an inch of fat on them. I, myself, am nowhere near a stick, but I constantly feel the pressure of media to want to diet, use diet pills, buy workout equipment, and other programs that will help people lose weight even though I am constantly told that my size is fine. Luckily, I live in New Orleans, a city of great music, great people, and great food, so I do eat. I am not anorexic or bulimic or anything like that. New Orleans is not the only place I have lived though. I also lived in Sydney, Australia for two years during ½ of my 6th grade year up to ½ way through my 8th grade year. They’re school year is different so it worked out that I was in Australia from my “Year 7” (7th grade) to “Year 8” (8th Grade). Ever since then, I have become much more of a traveler. I love traveling and I love seeing the different clothing and fashion trends in different areas. For one thing, I must say New Orleanians are not the best dressed. Closets usually include skinny jeans, nike shorts, and rainbows. Despite that, I have noticed a lot of people are dressing a lot better ad becoming a lot more fashion forward. The people of Sydney always dressed very well and while I always loved fashion, Sydney introduced me to an entire new world of fashion and I became exposed to a lot more than I was in New Orleans. This is one thing I am very thankful for. I am happy to answer any questions, just send me a message or twitter me at @doodlebugckc .

About This Blog:

My Goal? Write at least once a week. Why? It’ll help improve my writing and I’ll use it as a distress system by writing about something other than school work. It will also keep me up to date on fashion trends and events, which in the end will help me pursue my dream of becoming a fashion designer. If being a designer fails, I will have learned more about journalism and writing.
